There is a story behind every calling, and mine began when life tested me in ways I could not have imagined. I walked through grief after losing my mother, and I faced both heartbreak and healing while guiding my family through divorce, loss, and new beginnings.
My journey expanded as I supported my children's mental wellness, walked beside my sister in her own heartbreak, and learned the value of compassionate listening and steady faith through each chapter. With more than 30 years serving as an educator and community leader, I earned board certification as a Life and Youth Mental Health Coach (BCC, ICF).
Each day, I combine that expertise with deep empathy and practical wisdom - offering not just coaching, but a partnership built on trust, understanding, and purpose. My heart's mission remains simple: to help you rise, heal, and grow in mind, body, and spirit - because nobody has to journey alone.
A PERSONAL JOURNEY OF HEALING
Rise From Within Education & Wellness in Gwynn Oak, Maryland is a faith-integrated life coaching and mental health practice founded by Board-Certified Coach Deatrice Lee, who brings over 30 years of experience as an educator and community leader. My story - and truly, the heart behind this work - has been shaped by deep valleys and hard-won resilience.
After losing my mother, my world tilted on its axis in ways I never imagined possible. Grieving her absence while facing a difficult divorce and custody battle, I learned firsthand the aching confusion and loneliness that accompany loss and transition. Then, as my sister mourned the loss of her son, I stood beside her, walking through the weight of collective family grief. My children, too, faced their own battles with mental health and I often found myself searching for the right words to guide them forward, sometimes feeling unsure, but always leading with love.
All of these experiences called me with a powerful conviction: to create a space where others would not have to carry their struggles alone. That calling became Rise From Within Education & Wellness - a safe haven where real healing begins with being seen, heard, and understood. Here, healing intertwines faith, purpose, and practical strategies drawn straight from my journey.
